I became a Chaplin Fan when I was about 13 years of age. That was a while
back.
I had been working in children's theatre since I was quite young--today I am a
professional actress, mime, and clown--and came across one of his shorts ' One AM.' I
laughed and laughed and wondered who that adorable clown was. At the time my
complete obsession with Jerry Lewis dominated my ability to explore other physical
comedians. Well, that was the beginning--I started asking for more, and more and MORE! I
cannot hardly say I am now a recovering Chaplin addict--as I am still very much a user of
all his craft. Chaplin has become my primary influence in physical comedy
performance as well as comedy instruction. Thank God for that first Chaplin short
which I viewed at a high school conference in journalism way back when...
